Corporate strategy is concerned with how organizations develop, grow and restructure, for example by management buy-out. Corporate governance is closely related to strategy. It is concerned with who controls a company, the relationship between owners and managers, who takes responsibility for decisions, and levels of executive remuneration.

There is increasing concern over corporate strategy and governance together with the pressure for reform. Measures that could be taken include improving financial disclosure, and getting a better balance of power in the boardroom by separating the jobs of chair of the board and chief executive.
